Assessment is the raison d'etre of MAPS. The ability to assess easily, effectively and with greater flexibility than ever before allows teachers to offer the most effective assessment strategies. It gives students the confidence that their work is being fully and transparently assessed.
MAPS extensive suite of assessment tools includes the new Red Pen Tool that allows a teacher to work in exactly the same way as he or she might on a printed script - adding annotations, corrections and comments without normal constraints. The tool even allows multiple contributions: so more than one teacher, tutor or subject matter expert can pass comment.
The MAPS built in messaging system also lets teachers annotate individual pieces of work and provides space for pupils to re-evaluate their work, all online. Apart from the time savings (and security from loss) the process avoids the need to print out work repeatedly. All messages and communications are attached to the respective pieces of work ensuring that they can be subsequently reviewed as an important part of the assessment process.
