Features: Overview
MAPS features a simple four-stage assessment cycle:
Preparing Tasks
This is where your MAPS programme begins. You can create new tasks, those included within MAPS or any compatible resources that you choose to import. Assign them to classes, groups or individuals as part of their personalised learning scheme.
Completing the work
Once assigned, students and pupils can access their portfolios on demand, 24/7, anywhere there is an Internet connection. This may be at school or at home
Assessment
Once work has been completed it can be assessed with exactly the same flexibility. Marks can be assigned where appropriate or annotations made to pieces of work in the same way as they might be on paper-based scripts. Secure, regular backups ensure that all work and the assessments are securely stored.
Moderation
For so long it has been recognised that continuous moderation is crucial for professional development. Practicalities, however, preclude such a course of action. MAPS makes it viable.
Teachers can determine how to assess a child's progress and provide useful feedback and moderation notes to work in the child's portfolio
